Financial Reporting Accounting Manager

JOB SUMMARY

As a Watercress Financial Reporting Manager, you are responsible for maintaining our monthly and annual reporting, variance and budget analysis, consolidated chart of accounts, intercompany consolidation and annual license renewals.  Watercress is a financial technology lender with a small office work environment.  As our seasoned financial accountant, the Reporting Manager provides instruction and mentoring to the accounting operations team, helping with reconciliation, process planning, and enhancing procedures.  You work directly with Watercress executives and senior managers every day, analyzing financial performance, interpreting KPIs, and providing oversight for internal controls, audits, exams and company licenses.  Supervision experience is valued but not required in this role, we’re looking for the right person that is looking for challenge and opportunities to learn and provide they can make a difference.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for monthly financial reports, reconciliations, AJEs and variance analysis
  • Assist in maintenance of general ledger and standard entries for loan accounting
  • Develop and maintain executive and department reporting dashboards
  • Determine and tracking business non-financial key performance indicators and maintain a financial planning model
  • Provide budget analysis, periodic growth and losses forecasts and forecast curves
  • Oversee the annual filing calendar, procedures, and digital document repository
  • Work with auditors and examiners to deliver annual and quarterly license reporting

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA, MBA, or experience in loan system financial reporting, expert with MS Excel.
  • 10+ years as a CPA, financial reporting or financial planning and analysis.
  • 2+ years’ experience preparing or auditing financial statements for a lending business
  • Experience with financial industry accounting concepts such as ASC 310 and CECL / ALLL, right of use, loan accrual accounting, loan sales, consolidation and finance PV, rate and term functions.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Accounting degree, CPA, or comparable work experience.
  • Knowledge of consumer lending, banking, investments, securitization, or multistate licensing
  • Familiar with Microsoft power-stack financial technology skills such as Excel, PowerBI and Dynamics / Business Central, enhance, design and develop the company’s monthly reporting package.
  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 / Business Central or familiar with loan operations accounting
  • Data coding skills are valued (Dynamics/AL, VB, SQL, PowerQuery, JS, Python, SAS).
